Jackfruit BQ NOT-pork

inspired by Jamacian Jackfruit Patties, Allyson Kramer

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 10-oz can green jackfruit in brine
  • 1 small red onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 tsp smoked sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp chia seeds, mixed with 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon vegan worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon unrefined sugar
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon liquid smoke

    Saute first five ingredients 10-12 minutes,
    add remaining five and cook until thickened.
